Keith Tabor
Engineering Consultant & Managing Member
Education
BS ME, Michigan Technological University
MS ME, Massachusetts Institute of Technology
MS EE/CS, Massachusetts Institute of Technology
Keith's graduate research was in the Biomechanics Lab and his thesis, which satisfied the thesis requirements for both graduate degrees, was titled “The Real-Time Digital Control of a Regenerative Above-Knee Prosthesis”. The research centered upon designing, implementing, and testing a controller that would control the motion of a prosthetic leg during swing phase while optimally regenerating energy.
Experience
Keith has over thirty years of engineering experience overall including experience with mechatronics, embedded software, electronics design, control theory / signal processing, mechanical design, and systems engineering.
He was worked in the tunneling equipment, computer, heat treating, printing, medical, and off-highway vehicle industries before founding The Mechatronic Works, LLC (MTW). In the off-highway industry, Keith did extensive controls development, dynamic systems modeling (electronic, mechanical & hydraulic), digital signal processing, and systems engineering. He also developed automatic test equipment for testing hydraulic valve assemblies. At MTW, Keith is the founder, managing member, and engineering consultant.
He is an experienced engineer and inventor with eighteen U.S. patents issued. He is a licensed Professional Engineer (Reg. # 29351-6) in Wisconsin.
Keith is a member of IEEE and SAE.
Keith is a National Instruments Certified LabVIEW Developer.
